Uhhh...I think We'll need a bit more information, like:
What operating system are you using?
What do you mean by "it redirects to my modem"?
Where are the html files for your page stored?
What is the directory structure?
What changes have you made to httpd.conf?
That should do for a start.

Thanks a lot Mike and John:
It is much clear now. I have been researching and I
think Mike's solution will do the job I am looking for. John's approach will be
very difficult for me since I am still learning Apache, but I will research
about it.
I hope I could help in the list very soon

Thanks for the suggestions. I have already started to review them all at this
time. Depending on when you looked at the site you may have seen the old one.
It was decided to revert back to the old site until the bug on the new one
could be fixed. The site with the bug is at http://www.
Hi Alvaro,
This is a DNS configuration issue. If you
are hosting your own DNS, it's very simple to do just that. Have xxx.com
point to 111.222.333.444 and yyy.xxx.com point to 555.666.777.888. If
that's the only site you are hosting on that server (yyy.xxx.com) then apache
should wo

You can't have a domain in different places, far as
I know. But, you can put a page on your domain at www.mydomain.com/subdomain, and
have it refresh to your ADSL-connected server. refresh is an http command
in the page header.

Hi guys:
I am a newbie and this is my first post. I would
like to have your wise advice. The problem is as follows:
I have a domain and a paid hosting which serves our
mail and some pages. Additionally to this I would like to have my own server
with Apache, where I would like to host a
I have installed the Apache httpd serve on my machine.
When I try to access my page stored in httpd, it redirects to my modem!
What can be happening?

Jason,
You need to rule out network access problems which
have nothing to do with your server. You may have
problems associated with your client's network, for
example.
I've just been to your site and clicked several links
with no problems.
The usual list of suspects are:

If you go to http://modules.apache.org/, you'll find several modules
that say they do similar things. I
Hi all,
First off my configuration is:

Here's my problem. I have a file in directory c that I want to do a

as directory_c. The DocumentRoot is defined as directory_a which has

Thanks again Brian, this was a great help. On a related issue, I need to do the
reverse proxying in connection with SSL. Are there any pitfalls I should pay
attention to or would you have any general comments?

Win32 Source link of http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi is wrong.
I think it must be http://.../httpd-2.0.54-win32-src.zip
But it is http://.../httpd-2.0.54-win32-x86-src.zip

Hi, how does mod_rewrite interact with directives? I'm trying
to do a url to url rewrite, but want the resulting url to go through the

Installed Fedora 3 and Apache 2.0.53. Then installed php-4.3.11 to run
with MySQL 4.0.24 and php-5.0.4 to run with MySQL 4.1.11.
Was able to get a test pgm running using the php4 / MySQL 4.0
combination. Similarly I got a test pgm running using php5 / MySQL 4.1
combination. The only adjustment mad

The two codes appear to be consistent for n repeats of the the same c
