Hi,
during my recent re-install of our server (it is running Apache 2.2)
i changed my username from old_uname to new_uname. I would like that
my webaddress is still accessible under the old address
http://host/~old_uname
Looking through the docs I decided to go with the rewrite routine. I
was trying the following in /etc/apache2/mods-available:
created file called rewrite.conf and added:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^/~old_uname(.*) /~new_uname$1 [L,PT]
created two softlinks in mods-enabled. I find this not to work after
a restart of the webserver. Now I am wondering, is this the right way
of implementing the rewrite rule, i.e. in a file rewrite.conf in mods-
available or could there be a problem with the userdir.conf module
that I have also enabled or maybe something else?
Many thanks, Jan
