Use mod_authn_dbd, which works obsoletes the modules mentioned
in your subject line for authentication.
Thanks to Nick for pointing me to DBD. I googled 2 days for
mod_auth_mysql/mod_auth_pgsql with no clues at all.
Everything is working now!
