Hi,
Unfortunately the error_log does not yield any hints for me...
-bash-3.00$ grep Read-only error_log
-bash-3.00$ grep cgid error_log

There are a lot of errors that crossdomain.xml File Does not exist but that’s 
about it and I see that across all the servers.

I turned on LogLevel debug and that’s not giving me anything interesting either.

is the error.log saying something?

I've had the same symptons a few days ago. The error.log was saying:

[error] cgid daemon process died, restarting
[error] (30)Read-only file system: Couldn't bind unix domain socket 
/opt/apache-2.2.20/logs/cgisock
...

Setting the ScriptSock directive to a writeable file fixed the issue.
