I hope you treat this with appropriate urgency. A while back, I raised pull
request which was simply a patch for Windows OS. The pull request can be

Even though test failure markers are there, those aren't relevant to my
commit. And as some folks commented, the patch doesn't affect anything in a
major way.

I would request that someone review this once because we have successfully
completed our PoC and want to go live with a farm of 200 Windows Server
2016 (Core OS) where a farm of 9 message brokers will be configured with
kafka. It is really important that we get a clear communication whether
this patch will ever be accepted.

Otherwise, we have to risk customising client jar for our own case and keep
maintaining it for each kafka release we upgrade to. We don't have an
immediate plan to migrate to Linux, so it's my sincere request again to
senior folks for a review.
