hi jared,
Are you sure phone is receving @ instead of ?
I have not seen this behaviour earlier but try %S instead of %s.
It may help.

Hi all,
I'm a new user of kannel but I have already running
kannel with one GSM (SIEMENS TC-35) modem.
What's the easiest way to implement multiple SMS
Boxes on the same bearer box.
Thanx all,
Silvio
I am using a Siemens TC35 modem in a configuration where I send and receive
SMSs (ultimately to a web server). When I start Kannel it works fine, but I
find that when I try to use it at a later time the sends fail. Then I
restart it and it works fine.
