Me too I ve asked before giving up using Kannel.
Then I worked sending messages in a web environment like XML packets
over an HTTP session with
www.mblox.com
www.clickatell.com

What sort of modems does one use for the kannel interface, and where does
one buy them? I presume "ordinary" modems don't do the job?
If I use a phone as a sending/receiving device, is the modem-connection via
IR just as suitbale, or Bluetooth for that matter?

I want to connect a kannel gateway to a remote smsc with
smpp protocol. I need platform and architecture of this connection and
kannel configuration.
