is there a way to add new users to the sendsms-user group on the fly; a
method which allows Kannel to keep running while new users are added in
the sendsms-user group?
Please let me know if there is a mechanism similar with 'add-smsc' or
'reload-lists' commands from Kannel's HTTP

There is no such way adding a sendsms-user on the fly.
Maybe an option is use Kannel together with PAM. I think Alejandro Guerrieri
has a patch for that, if I am not mistaken.

It is just a matter of trying and see if it will work for you.
If you have multiple connections to the same smsc, it might (possibly) work.
But for the same matter it doesn't, for the reasons that Alex stated. So see
if it works or not.

Hello there.
Any body help me to setup kannel with asterisk. I tried a lot, but still
not success. I want to send sms with gsm gateway device, which i am using
for dialing purpose.

Either Asterisk or Kannel can use a GSM gateway device at the time.
It is not possible to use them both at the same time, unless your gateway
device is capable of receiving two (usb) serial connections at a time.

Your are right, only one task will complete at a time.
I just need that after finishing for call, secondly sms will generate for
same number. so this is next step process.

A workaround for the issue rised by Alex might be to use a sort of
virtual smsc_id for long messages in order to force long messages
--or, if you do the split by yourself-- each sms part to use only that
specific smsc.
I mean send long sms or its parts using ...smsc=smsc_long_sms...
and add to
I suggest you use a second GSM device to send the sms messages.
Or otherwise use one of the many sms service providers to send the sms,
instead of a gsm modem.
