The user kannel had been added to the dialup group but there is no
difference whether I start the bearerbox with or without the -u flag.
Unfortunately, I am not a SuSe user either as we run Ubuntu on our own
systems. The iso-images can be downloaded freely and I had signed-up for

Note sure if it's linked however every few hours I get:

in smpp box logs, then the service crashes..
Checking the code it seems this would only occur if newconn == NULL .
