you can try to synchronize somehow kannel to the script. For instance you can
try and lock the file before copying it and then unlock it. Feel free to try
and share the experience.

Hi,
Tajur is right. Although you may miss one or two messages which do not
reach your script (I had a case like that recently).
On the other hand, if is for billing and statistics, you don't need
"realtime" parsing of the log, for instance a half-hour lag is
perfectly acceptable. I have a
Hi, guys
I have some problems with sending back predefined text to users.
First, if the original message is blank, Kannel sends back to user a
message: 'Request Failed' instead the predefined text.
Second, the answer is not going back through the SMSC that called the
service, although the
the second one, why the text reply doesn't go back through the

Thanks for answ.

Hi, Andrew,
I wished to be that simple.
The fact is that normally the network operator would not allow mobile
phones to access mms-content stored outside their network, unless you
reach to some kind of agreement with them.
Other direction to be investigated although impractical, is to modify
at doing that).
But, you further need a system (usually LAMP: Linux, Apache, MySql, Php) to
handle all other stuff, namely recoding the votes and giving a real-time stat
for that. We have used such applications here for a number of events, for
instance Miss World Contest.
Hope it helps.

need to hold or pause the activity of Kannel.
This works for Kannel any version and Fedora Core 3. Untested in other
environments.
Hope it helps.

Hi guys,
I'm using Kannel for three years now with no major problems. But, today, one of
providers notified me that is going to change the protocols to SMSC from
UCP/EMI 4.0 to either UCP60 or SMPP4.5
A quick search into documentation and in users mail archive didn't gave me a
clear answer to
version `cvs-20070424'. Build `Apr 25 2007
14:34:49' on (Red Hat 3.4.2-6.fc3)'. System Linux. Find below some of the
settings.
Any answer is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Mihai Zsigmond

Hi Emiliano,
In case of totally missing the DLR support from SMSC, a brute workaround
would be that your application to search kannel logs (kannel-access.log
would be most appropiate) and identify the rejected messages.
You need a mechanism to identify the message, for instance adding a
Hi there,
Just a quick word on the subject. Getting an correct DLR really depends on
how the SMSC itself is configured. I work here with several providers and
there are two of them which return only one DLR with the value 8 (submitted
to SMSC) regardless of actual situation.
This can explain

Hi there,
It looks much more like a routing MT messages to the correct SMSC connection
issue than an USB connected phones problem. This problem has been also long
debated on the list, search for it. Try also to post the relevant part of the
conf file, you can get some advice.
