Hey!
Is there any way to clear Kannel's queue online? I do not want to shutdown
the server and manually delete the files.
Thanks!
Eduardo
You could use a memcache indeed, or a queue server such as rabbitmq. These
operations are very fast. I believe you could handle 1000-2000 messages/second
with a standard dual processor box with 4gb ram.
Test it out and see if it works for you.

Hey,
Sure, you need to connect to an SMSC to send/rcv sms from Kannel.
The SMSC (in Kannel's terms) can be anything from an actual operator, an
aggregator (such as Clickatell) or just a GSM phone.
A GSM phone or modem is OK if you want to send/rcv a relatively low amount of
messages per month
Ishtiaq,
Check the smsuser section of the user guide, there you will find an option to
set max. retries for http-services. If Kannel cant reach your url, it will
queue the message and try again depending on what you set.
Be aware that this queue seems to be non-persistent, this means that if yo
Omar, what kind of connection protocol are you using?
Obviously, your operator will need to include the "original" shortcode in some
parameter so you can capture it. In SMPP it should be the destination address.

I have gotten that error (or similar) when the mobile number doesn't exist. I
configured the modem to discard these messages after two retries.
It's a totally empiric solution as I'm not sure about the real reason for the
