I am using the internal mic and skype-2.1.0.81-fc10.i586. Audio out,

With no changes to modprobe.d/dist-alsa.conf, the following works:

Way back on Fedora 9, my Nautilus preferences has an option for when
"software" media is inserted to "open auto-run prompt". Since I don't
have anything to test it, and it doesn't appear to be documented in the
Gnome help. What does it actually do?

Hi all,
Very confused here.
I'm trying to install a perl module without any luck. Isn't this stuff
supposed to work out of the gate? Is there some sort of fedora / yum
way to to this? Basic instructions for perl either return nothing or a
failure message.

Hi,
I've been meaning for some time to add a second monitor to my F14 setup. I did
so today and found the monitor detected and the display size correctly set as
soon as it powered on. Very nice. The second screen is physically to the right
of the original and is so configured in the system sett

If you really want to make sure this can't happen again. create your own

Hi,
i'm facing an interesting issue. The whole day i read psots about joomla
installation issue with file configuration.php which is not writtable and
another issue with directory permissions.
However, everything i tried was unsuccessful and therefore i've decided to

Fedora 14
i can run a program with another user with:
(command before): xhost local:transmission-user
the command:
sudo -u transmission-user -- /usr/bin/transmission-gtk &
from the gnome-terminal.
But:
echo -e '#!/usr/bin/env xdg-open\n\n[Desktop
Entry]\nVersion=1.0\nType=Application\nTermi
I went through the files in the yum.repos.d directory including fedora.repo,
fedora-updates.rep and fedora-updates-testing.repo, and swapped out the baseurl
lines with macro variables with an absolute repo's URL, ie:
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/$releasev
Question:
THE SOLUTION:
$ xhost local:transmission-user
$ sudo -u transmission-user -- /usr/bin/transmission-gtk
YUP!! :)
