to a USB SD card reader. But '/dev/mmcblk0' does not exist.

I would only expect to get a mmc* device if you plug a MMC card into the
reader.
/dev/sda1 on F18 seems to be the one using the FUJIFILM SD card
adapter USB device
Its very slow on USB 1.0 though !
