I was saying that to Jana, who seemed to be implying that Gosh was doing something fundamentally different, which I don't think is the case. Not making any further comment on if its worth it to the dev team or not, not sure we can know what their priorities are on this anyways. On Fri, Jul 26,

I do not yet, curious to hear what other people use. Last time I was doing a C++ project, Geanie was my favorite. Nice and lightweight, planning on trying to set that up soon unless there's a more 'blessed' option. On Thu, Jul 25, 2024, at 11:15 PM, John J. Karcher wrote: > Hello Everyone, > >

I feel like this misses the point somewhat- Markdown is also aiming for the 'readable as a text file' and really is a very similar technology to Gosh. Also, whether they are .gosh files, or text files that happen to implement gosh doesn't matter much, just as .md doesn't matter really (unless th

Goa - How to satisfy find_package()?

Hopefully a simple question- I am trying to port a CMake project (arcan ) that uses Freetype and looks for it using find_package(Freetype REQUIRED QUIET). I've added 'freetype' to 'used_apis' but that did not seem to make it happy. Worth noting, I a

I'm curious about this too - looking at the github repo, it seems like there's a mix of pulls into staging and into master. The git flow section of https://genode.org/documentation/genode-foundations-24-05.pdf is a little ambigious - it mentions staging as being the place to put untested changes

As for the actual content - I'm just a nobody, but I agree those are all good quality of life additions. For the SVG part, my guess is that it is unlikely both in terms of complexity, and because SVG icons are very hard to optimize for clarity at different sizes. This is a good article on the t

Semi-relatedly, I'm looking into porting Arcan, and by extension the Durden Desktop Environment (https://arcan-fe.com/2020/12/20/durden-0-6-released/) which has some cool features like network transparency. Arcan has a lot of very similar ideas to Genode (https://arcan-fe.com/2021/09/20/arcan-a

You might also be interested in Sandstorm, a service that only does the 'user apps' type of thing that nextcloud has. It has a strong focus on security (even over usability) and is big into capabilities much like Genode is. IMO. if there is a 'right way' to do a web app store, this is it. Devel
