Hello,
I attempted to run onevm create with the option of clone=no and
find that it fails to create the one- folder for this VM. If I choose
clone=yes then all works fine.
I am using ESX 4.1 and OpenNebula 2.0.
My reason for using clone=no is that I want to be able to reuse VMs that
were deploy
e, install and try again. Your feedback on this is most welcome.

Hello,
I noticed at the bottom of the documentation page under References there is
a mention of the OCA API via Ruby and Java. I am just curious how somehow
would use there apis.i.e is there any samples around using these
interfaces?
I also read on a mailer archive that the Java one is no lon

I tried the livemigrate option to onevm in my ESXi configuration and found
that I got this error:

Now my VM is stuck in the migrate state and I can't run any of the onevm

Hello,
It looks like the ESX controls of the VMs under OpenNebula are not quite as
sophisticated as other hypervisors like Xen or KVM.
It seems that my control of an ESX VM is to create, power on, power off and
migrate. Is this correct? Suspend and Resume appear to just do a shutdown

Hello,
Now that I have the ability to create virtual machines on my OpenNebula
cloud I am trying out the various actions of the onevm tool.
I noticed that "suspend" creates a snapshot and suspends the host however
when I resume it reverts the snapshot and powers the machine on again.
Shouldn't it
parameter work for VMware? The documentation only
claims Xen and KVM.

Hello,
I posted a couple of messages with the same basic theme of issues getting
vms to start on an ESX controlled by OpenNebula but have not received any
response.
I am just looking for a quick example on what a VMware VM template should
look like and any tips on debugging issues as most of the
I have yet to complete a configuration of OpenNebula using ESX hypervisor(s)
due to steps around which documentation does not go into detail such as:
1. What the VM template should look like?
2. How to specify VMs to run/deploy/create on a particular ESX host?
However I would be willing to contri

Hello,
I am trying to register my VM to use with OpenNebula and ESX 4.1.
I copied the VM folder to the shared nfs storage and then have tried to
create a template for this vm but I am not sure I have it right:
r...@:/srv/cloud/one# cat /export/vg0-lv0/WinXP.template
NAME=VMwareVM
MEMORY=256
Sorry for the 'spoke to soon' email. I got my VISDK to connect first and the
OpenNebula worked fine. All set.
Thanks,
Jon

Just curious if there are any differences to getting the VMware driver to
work with OpenNebula 2.0.
I am curious whether it is necessary to compile the VI SDK 2.5 or the
packaged jar files are enough.
If anyone has some exact steps on getting the VISDK up and running properly
that would be great.
