I forgot to mention that volatile disks are created directly on the system
DS. This might not be clear from sunstone.
Were you referring to this when you asked if there is a way to change the
default DS for volatile disks? Or were you thinking about the DS used to
create new Images?

Attaching works for existing images, but not for volatile images created
on the fly. The problem arises if the filesystem datastore used is not
the default one. Is there a way to make sunstone use a specific
datastore as default? The old Self-Service portal had an option for that
in
