delete a message which is open, it now opens up the next message. My other
setup returns me to the message list. Is there a setting I am missing or

Alec, is there a way to change a setting that users return to the message
list after deleting an opened mail?

Yes, I have set the preview panes off - but I've let it an open choice for
users. I know some of them are using it, some are not.
But it would be definitely good to have at least a switch in the config file
to control the behaviour when deleting an opened mail (either back to
message list or show e

just wanted to say that I agree with Claudio and Jeff.
I use the preview pane and the fact that it opens the next message when
you delete one may be the only thing "annoying" me with roundcube.
+1 for the option to change that behaviour

down especially (or maybe ineveitably) when all I do is click "close" for
all the reasons Claudio mentions anyway.
