Two things: 1. There is one slash (/) to many in your file-URL. Try this: maven.repo.remote=file:///lonfs02/EBJAVA/repository,http://www.ibiblio.org/maven,http://dist.codehaus.org,http://www.codeczar.com/maven 2. If that doesn't work you can enter a drive-letter, like this: maven.repo.remote=file:/
