Yes. When compiling Kannel CVS, do something like:
./configure --prefix=/tmp
make install
then in Mbuni do this:
./configure --with-kannel-dir=/tmp
make install
Done.
Simpler option (if open to you), install one of the pre-built
packages for your distribution.

You need to compile against Kannel CVS (snapshot).
