Jepp good news indeed, given the fact that jdeveloper has a very nice
jsf designer and good case tools.
The database part however seems sort of problematic with non oracle
databases :-), which is perfectly
Cool news!
I am waiting for the patches trickling in now ;) ...

Extremely cool! + A free JSF IDE (AFAIK, There arent
any free graphicall/RAD IDE's supporting JSF).
I would be curious to know how oracle as a core

I had JDeveloper lingering on my HD for a while, but never
gave it a serious run due to the licensing issues, because I constantly
work on a budget here.
But I rechecked the JSF part after the announcement, that one is
absolutely excellent.

Support Werner's observation of the JSF ide portion of Jdeveloper. I
have been having huge issues with JavaStudioCreator (stability, 'random'
changes, lack of component support (for myfaces of course ;-)).

Hello,
I'm having trouble using the HtmlFormRendererBase class for rendering the

When a use clicks the expand icon in a serverside Tree2 component, I

to fill in the details of that node's children. What's the hook in
Tree2 that I can use to do that? Should I override one of the methods?
Should I

Wow, this is really cool. I was also just looking through the ADF Faces
components and they look really cool. I hope they contribute these to
MyFaces or at least make them freely usable.

Hi Werner,
I'm glad that you like our IDE :)
Some minor comments in line on my part (being the ADF Faces and JDev
guy on the list ;).

I am in the process of upgrading my MyFaces from 1.0.6 to the latest

Hi Jonas, thanks for the clarifications, as you can see, I really like
your IDE, although some parts are still rough at the edges, which also
is understandable since the whole ide is a total rewrite.
I for instance had two times the problem of having a wrongly referenced
binding during my

Well Exadels entry edition is free, but I would call that
graphical, since it misses the pageflow editor in the free edition.

This is the same issue as MYFACES-216. I applied a patch there that

Concerning ADF (from the serverside thread)
Sorry for the delay in replying.
We are changing the licensing for Oracle ADF as well: we will license
ADF in the same manner as we license TopLink. In fact, we are creating
a new bundle combining the TopLink and ADF runtimes.
If you use the x:message/x:messages tags, you get meaningful names as
a present along the way ;)
