James,
I agree about only the official releases being in the Maven
repository. We did *not* post the version in question, however.
What are the rules on this? I a Maven noob, but this seems to be a

thing is that issues keep flowing in for the MyFaces 1.0.9 release, we
will not be knowing if this has been fixed in any of the new builds if
we don't give out a new release.

I think we should hold off on the next release but I see I am out numbered. ;-)
Why don't I put up a RC using the bootstrap procedure? I will try and
get one up in the next few days.
A few points:

+1 The last release is almost 5 month ago. So it´s time for a new release.
We should also make a 1.1.0 version since we have some structual change
like tomahawk and shouldn´t go the way 1.0.10, 1.0.11 ...

yes, I think that the nightly build files are signed. So really all we
would have to do is declare them as RC-1 and put them up somewhere to
get going. Well, and get 3 +1s, of course.
with you and me, that makes 2 - another one out there wanting a new release?

We should ask James Mitchell. He is a new committer to MyFaces (he's
a longtime committer on Struts.) He is constantly jabbering on and on
about Maven so he could probably answer that ;-)
I'm not sure if a nightly build is warranted but I think we should
have jars for the official release builds
Any chance of getting a nightly snapshot in some maven repo somewhere
for those of us using maven in our projects?
Thanks,
Rich

Yes, I do think the same. Many bugs are fixed everyday and every
nightlty should be more stable than the former (and so than the last
release). Of course, this does not always happend but it's the trend

I would suggest the nightly build as there have been many bug fixes
since the release. The timing of the next release is still up in the
air but this project is in rapid change mode at the moment so IMO, you
always want to be using the latest release even if its not yet
official.

I'm going to start a project with MyFaces.
Should I use the 1.0.9 build or grab the latest nightly build?
Have a lot of bugs been fixed since the release?
Are we getting close to a new release?
Is MyFaces on a "Release soon Release often" strategy?
I don't mind updating often, what I really ha
