Ok I was finally able to figure this out. When I add my overview map layers
which I have predefined to the actual map it gets all messed up in terms of
size/zoom etc. But when I just create a few layers specifically for the
overviewmap only and then *dont* add these layers to the map but only add
So as soon as I define a custom layer for my overview (layers: [layerName])
my overview map just goes back to the maximum zoom levels and all of the
options I am setting for it have absolutely no effect. Can I set the options
for the specific layer I am adding to the overview instead?

Ok so I figured out that my overview map is actually working, except the
startup for the center position and the zoom range is way too much as it is
zoomed in to where I cannot see anything plus the center is not the same as
my regular map. Is it possible to use the setcenter method for an overvie
