I, too, find fonts on Linux to be beyond confusing... I THINK part of the answer is that you have to run the OOo printer setup to tell OOo to use whatever fonts you have on your system. .Just tried it with 1.1.2---(the command is spadmin.bin)---no fonts settings. 1.9.xxx has fonts in th

Thank you for Open Office!!! I am using version 1.1.4 on a debian (unstable) system. I am having a bit of troble fine-tuning my fonts... I have some favorite Type1 fonts loaded on the system and usable by other apps (firefox) My font (Myriad) shows up in fc-list. It does not show up in oowriter.

I found sel and hyp, but only by a devious route: Go to the help function and click on find and then search on either "sel" or "hyp" AS WHOLE WORDS. This gets you to a discussion of the status bar that I could not find any other way to go to. (sel and hyp is toggling between 2 modes of handling
