We are using Windows version of Version 2.0 Ooo. We were using Version 1.4
before the upgrad.
Is it safe to rename all *.sxc to *.ods and *.sxw to *.odt for all the file in
the harddisk?
i.e. "ren *.sxc *.ods /s"

To all: Well, so far I really like the writer part of the program and
have found it to be the easiest word processor to use, ever! Now, if I
can just get the hang of making a simple database-phone book, which
could not really be done in earlier versions, I will be okay. :-)

1/ use works to re-save the documents as something like RTF format.
OOo can certainly use RTF just fine.
2/ use a freely available download from M$ to convert works files to
.doc files. OO can therefore read .doc files just fine.

I think you want to modify the default number symbols. Press 'F11' to
get the styles dialogue. Right-click 'Numbering Symbols' and click

It would be an issue with X11 -- I would strongly recommend that you
look at neoOffice for the Mac -- it is not only easier to install,
put much more mac like to use -- I am sure we will see a 2.0 version
soon -- but even the current version is pretty good.

Using OOo 2.0 on windows XP + SP2 (but it seems to be the same in
1.1.4). This is my first time in trying to use calc to do time
calculations, and I'm having trouble with the formating. I've looked at
most of the user docs that I can find, and very little is said about
time formating

Yesterday I installed OpenOffice 2.0 on my Windows XP machine. As long
as I store my files locally everything works fine. But writing files
with OO Writer to an other XP-machine in the network fails. Reading
files over the network is also not successful. No other Windows
