Yes, I am opening the document in OOo Writer. Version is
actually not much of a problem, because the same version of OOo is
rendering Mathtype in windows properly. I am able to open the document
in OOo windows and get it converted to pdf for using it in Linux.

I am afraid Open Office has given me so many problems that I wish to uninstall
it completely.So far I have managed to remove the word processing and spread
sheet elements but I cannot remove the Open Office start.htm which seems to be
glued to my Firefox browser and always comes up as the front
