[users] Printing problem

I am using Open Office Writer version 2.3 on a notebook PC running  
Windows Vista Home Premium edition.  I am using a Hewlett Packard  
printer.  Though I have verified that the printer software is  
installed correctly, and that I have the necessary drivers, when I try  
to print a document from Writer, I cannot configure it to print on  
standard 8.5/11 paper--only limited options appear, and "print  
preview" is greyed out under the file menu.  I don't have a problem  
printing from other programs, such as Windows Notepad.  Please  
assist.  Thank you.
