Thank you Dan I have Win XP Home with SP2.
I downloaded OpenOffice 1.1.4 - using the BitTorrent path. Somewhere along the line Windows 1.1.4.Solaris x 86 appeared. I tried to get back to a more clear-cut OpenOffice download, but I concluded that was the way the BitTorrent and Azureus did things. Thanks Laurence
