[users] Openoffice Writer

I have been trying to use writer but I keep having a problem when going to
save the file. It comes up with an error message   Unable to save File.
This problem has been experienced with both imported files and files created
in open office from scratch.
 
The save function works from time to time.
 
I have been a user of Microsoft and would like to create all my documents in
open office because of the PDF Export function.
 
Any help in this matter would be appreciated,
