Never mindI thought for a minute...and in Windows, mounting a filesystem
= mapping a drive letter. It works now!

OK.so, this is basically a known issue. Does it have to do with
shortcuts in general, network shortcuts, shortcuts with certain characters?
Also, pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by "mounting the remote
filesystem"?
