I had OpenOffice.org 2.0 working perfectly on my Debian Etch system until
last week (I used alien to create .deb's and then installed them) before I
did a bunch of updates to the installation.
Now, when I try to start openoffice, I get :
/etc/openoffice.org-2.0/program/soffice.bin: error whil

I am trying to make text in a table cell vertical in regard to text in a

You might try deleting all of OO 2.0, then
reinstalling it. However, what caused the original
error may not work either.

Problem understood. I would suggest in the first instance to update
your version (which is fairly old) to the latest (2.0.3) to see if
that corrects the issue.
