Thanks, Anthony. Actually, I've done that, but it adds another few steps to mail merges, which I do often. And as I'm a one-person, small budget organization, every extra step can mean a lot. What I'm wondering about is whether or not OO is designed to handle CSV as a data source directly. Documentation suggests it is supposed to be able to do it, but I can't make it work.

Hi Carl,
Try importing the csv file, then save it as a spreadsheet. You should be able to use the spreadsheet as a data source.

I've tried using CSV files directly as data source for mail merges and other functions, but I can't get OO to accept them. If I select Text as the DB type I can't navigate to the correct CSV file to select it. If I choose Spreadsheet as the DB type, I can navigate to and select the CSV file, but when I try to use it, OO opens an error dialog that says it can't create a connection to the file. None of the other options are appropriate.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I try something else? Can anyone else use CSV directly as a data source? Thanks.
