I suspect it hasn't passed the QA tests yet. There are only a small
group of volunteers doing QA for Mac and it can take some time for some
languages to be approved.
You could go to
<http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/OtherDownload.html> and
click on "Go to the Development build FTP server." <2.4RC6> is the same
as the release version. You would want
"OOo_2.4.0RC6_MacOSXPowerPC_X11_install_fr.dmg".
Or you could try the development Mac native Aqua version (note: It
still has bugs) under <DEV300_m2>
"OOo_3.0.0_080314_MacOSXPowerPC_install_fr.dmg"
IMPORTANT - These versions only work with OS 10.4.xx & OS 10.5.xx
