Why when I open a txt document in OOo it appears with font Courier New, font size 10, and with style Preformatted text? I modified the Preformatted text in my default template, but the situation did not change...

Hmmm, yes - that's surprising, isn't it?

How can I make a txt document open with font Liberation Mono size 12 (which I also have as my default template)?

Well, there's a fairly straightforward workaround:
o Open the text document in OpenOffice.
o Ctrl+A to select all the text.
o Ctrl+C to copy all the text.
o Start a new document - using the default or another template, as you wish. o Ctrl+Shift+V to Paste Special into the new document, selecting "Unformatted text" from the options provided.

I trust this helps.

An easier workaround is Ctrl+A, Style: Default... But where is the template OOo uses when it opens plain (unformatted) text documents located?
