Hi Lily Have a look at http://user-faq.openoffice.org/faq/ar01s02.html#SAVE_AS_DOC or for more general stuff: http://user-faq.openoffice.org/new-faq/index.html There is also the problem that OOo does not yet support the docx MS Office format, so if people send you those you will be unable to open them, as will users of earlier MS Office versions.
