I'm making the assumption you loaded the Windows version: Mine didn't install either, but the work around is easy. Go to the Open Office program folder, and find a folder inside that one named "program". The application "Quickstarter.exe" is located within. Launch that application, and when the tray icon appears, right click it to bring up the menu.
