Hello, I want to try out the 3.0.1 version in Debian Lenny. From http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Administration_Guide/Linux, I see that the default location for the installation is /opt. However, I want to install it in /usr/local/opt. The web page suggests to use the following command for this (as root): $> dpkg -i --installdir=/usr/local/opt *.deb
This might be a dumb question. I just wanted to confirm whether "--installdir" changes the location of the whole of the installation tree? Will there be any other files's whose location will not be changed (perhaps in /etc)? Thanks. -- Please reply to this list only. I read this list on its corresponding newsgroup on gmane.org.
