Hi, I don't think there are any Open Source solutions for OCR. Well there is one (Tesseract) but its installation/use on OS X is not well documented or supported. If you have the stomach for it try code.google.com/p/tesseract-ocr/> There's something about installing it here

[users] OCR for iMac
