My first (and at least semi serious) suggestion is that you dump windows, Install linux and avoid sudden reboots. My second (and more serious) suggestion is that you take the time to name and save the file when you start working on it that way as you get into the project, one mouse click or

G'day Andrew et al, But isn't the real problem that OOo has changed to a system where it creates a 'recovery' file rather than automatically saving the file regularly, as it used do? I believe that I shouldn't have to regularly tell my PC to do something that it used do automatically. On
