I've been seeing a lot of posts dealing with tnbis "scim input". I
apologize but I'm totlly lost and I don't know what this stuff is and
moreover how it is linked to OOffice.
Can anybody givge me an input (without scim) ?

After trying the solution for a while, I ended up doing something
slightly different.
In the end I just added the line
scim -d -c socket -f x11 -e socket &
to my kde startup script (~/.kde/Autostart/autostart.script)

thing is those two kanji (which form the word 漢=kan 字=ji) were written
in thunderbird not OO.
The input system works normally for everything that that final part of
actually showing the characters in OO.
Another interesting thing is that I can paste correctly the kanji into
OO, but if

Well, as I said on my last post, I was able to get the scim dialog to
show up in OO.
The problem that even when I choose one kanji from the scim popup menu,
inside OO I get things like
"e-c"e-"e-cccjn
interesting this is what happens if I paste directly here.
