If Open Office would like to endear itself to old Lotus users, may I suggest the following? If you type in a cell "1+2" (without the quotes) then OO Calc should assume that you are typing in a formula, and NOT, as Excel does, and which drives me MAD, assume that if it is not prefixed by = or + that it is TEXT? When you write a sum on a piece of paper you don't write "+1+2" do you? You just write "1+2".
