I really liked the first suite. Appleworks was good. The geneology
of suites is interesting. MS worked very hard to make their product
un-useful to other products. They even made a product unique to a
specific system release.
I prefer to not support random closets in a mansion somewhere

Why? OOo/SO should be more user-friendly, intuitive and capable.
I don't think that the UI of Office is all that crash-hot. Modal
windows, no clear distinction of inherited/overridden parameters,
cross-linking between documents overly
