I think it may be something to do with the install / Mac version since I cannot replicate on either 1.1.2 nor 1.9.62 (both on XP mind you)... Anyone else able to replicate ? In general however it does sound like autocorrect/auto replace functionality. Maybe a more indepth search may be required.
