The problem is not in opening the file again on the computer it was saved
on. The problem is that my boss insists on continuing to use Microsoft Word.
We often email him documents, and that's where it has seemed to be the
problem.

Further to my last posr, If you open Word
d found that it had saved it as a WordPad document. Any other suggestions?
We do not have Microsoft Word on that computer, but it does have WordPad
(obviously) and Corel Word Perfect in addition to Open Office.

files. Usually, if you do not use complex functions of Word, this will
not have any consequences, because Wordpad will save the file in a Word
for

happening is that the extension of .doc has been associated with
wordpad.
You need to change this is you want .doc files opened in OOo. Right
click on the file with a .doc extension, select 'open with' then
