In your /etc/yp.conf file do you specify "broadcast"? That won't work
in a vz container. (domain broadcast). I get around this by
specifying a server:

For a demonstration I setup a laptop running OpenVZ. It's a 333MHz
Pentium II, 128MB RAM, and a 6 GB hard drive. I have 3 VEs running. It
works fine.

make some sym-links manually in /etc/vz/names/ when I updated to vzctl
3.0.18, but no other compatibility problems.

Problem: vncserver wouldn't start
Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'
Solution:
cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts
mkfontdir misc
/etc/init.d/xfs restart
vncserver runs fine now.

Our network uses an unusual netmask: 255.255.248.0
Could that be causing a problem?
There's nothing on the wiki about NIS.
