I did your suggested method and it's working properly now. The engine
however still seems to want to add the 172.16.1.1 IP as a host to the
cluster, but that's not doing much other than building up the log file.

I've looked at the logs and will have to discuss the issue with some people,
which I will only be able to do tomorrow.
In the mean time, When the message to manually remove the disks appear, it
actually means manually - not through the engine at all, if that helps for now.
