Most, if not all, of the individuals currently developing and maintaining Qpid Dispatch Router will be redirecting their focus onto a fork of the software within the Skupper project. The reason for doing this is that we want to take the codebase in a decidedly different direction in support of multi-protocol interconnect as opposed to middleware messaging. We will be adding features to support these goals and removing other features and complexities not needed. These changes will not be backwards compatible and will remove support for some of the existing messaging use cases.
The Qpid Dispatch 1.19.0 release will proceed as planned and previously outlined. After this release, feature development for Dispatch will slow significantly unless new volunteers join the project to help evolve the codebase and drive it forward. -Ted
