Any ideas why just a simple upgrade would have done this?
I guess your /etc/passwd got messed up - you might want to check the
user's IDs. There's no way a SOGo update could have done
Hm - pls. check the userid of sogo and ntp.

Not a local user. There is no sogo user in /etc/shadow, /etc/group, or
/etc/passwd. Looking at my backups for the past year and no local user.

There should be a local sogo user - sogod runs in the sogo user space.

That is odd, I have never had a local sogo user this whole time. I have
gone back to our latest backup and none have the sogo user in any of the
/etc files. I cannot do a useradd since the user is already in ldap. Any
ideas?

Ok, just a test, makes no harm, I think:
1. add line into /etc/group like sogo:x:hightest_free_GID:
(before replace 'hightest_free_GID' ;-) )
2. add a line into /etc/passwd like
sogo:x:986:hightest_free_GID::/srv/sogo:/bin/bash
Test it again - does it run?

PERFECT! I only had to change the /srv/sogo to the /home/sogo for my

sql-update-1.3.16_to_1.3.17.sh: should it be run as the user sogo is run as?
The shell Script asks you for an DB username, its password and SOGos DB
name. It does not really matter which user you use for running the
script. Just be sure the DB user you choose as enough rights on your
SOGo DB.

Hi Francis,
Just did the update on Ubuntu but I cant seem to be able to find the sql
scripts... I looked in /usr/share/sogo/doc where the other scripts are
located but the upgrade from 1.3.16 to 1.3.17 is not there... Did you
forget to package it or is it hidden some other place ?
Cheers,
