I tried this fix and it doesn't work, why I don't know :-( I applied the patch and restored the original Dns.pm and now get these in my log: Sep 28 16:34:43 ukiah amavis[29449]: (29357-02) TROUBLE in process_request: Erro r writing a SMTP response to the socket: Bad file descriptor at (eval 54) line 6 86, <GEN6> line 761. Sep 28 16:36:46 ukiah amavis[29505]: (29458-01) TROUBLE in process_request: Erro r writing a SMTP response to the socket: Bad file descriptor at (eval 54) line 6 86, <GEN6> line 212. Backing the patch out and patching Dns.pm (uncommenting the old 'open' line and commenting out the new 'Mail::SpamAssassin::Util::helper_app_pipe_open' and everything works fine again. I'm using SA 3.0, amavisd-new-2.1.2, perl 5.8.5, FreeBSD. Any other info, debugging needed let me know and I'll try and help. <snip> -- I've had fun before. This isn't it.
