*10 months +* *Phone & Skype* *$50-55/hr ( LITTLE FLEXIBLE)* *NEED GC / USC ONLY * Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking to engage the services of one project manager who meets the below qualifications to manage a large, complex implementation project related to the operations of the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system in the Lone Star Business Service (LSBS) Unit of the HHSC Office of Social Services (OSS). Minimum Requirements: 7 yrs - Experience developing tools to administer large numbers of test & development database environments 7 yrs - Carry 24 x7 pager for supporting Production & Development database systems 7 yrs - Experience designing, installing & maintaining large size databases 7 yrs - Performance Tuning large size databases & applications 7 yrs - Thorough knowledge & working experience in setting up infrastructure for databases in datacenters at multiple sites 7 yrs - Working experience in moving live production, development & testing database & applications hosted in different physical sites. 7 yrs - Overall DBA experience 7 yrs - In-Depth knowledge of Oracle internal views, shell & SQL scripting 7 yrs - Experience managing Oracle databases versions 10& 11 on Solaris 5 yrs - Solid experience in managing Oracle versions 10& 11 database with Automated Storage Management (ASM), Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard 1 yr - Experience in implementing and maintain oracle Golden gate software 1 yr - Experience in tuning Oracle databases using software such as Precise I3 Strong -Excellent oral and written communication skills Certification Required : Oracle DBA certified Preferences: 3 yrs - Experience with Texas health & Human Service application systems 4 yrs - Proven leader and mentoring experience 5 yrs - Strategic planning and implementation experience As part of HHSC EA initiatives, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals: Database administration services for large enterprise application development and production projects. Database administration for Oracle 10g and Oracle 11g. Develops and documents database standards, guidelines and processes as required. Work with application developers and report writers to design/implement/modify databases. Troubleshoot problems regarding the database, applications, and development tools. Assist in performance analysis and problem resolutions pertaining to databases. Determine, implement, and enhance standards on database security. Coordinate and support migration to new data management system software levels. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
