Position Overview: Client is looking for an experienced Release Engineer who can lead in developing and continuously enhancing best in class release engineering, management tools, DEV OPS and processes. The ideal candidate is confident, analytical, highly technical, and a solid influencer and communicator. The candidate must have a proven track record of leading release engineering / DEV OPS team and driving release activities for large scale high availability web properties. The candidate must also be fluent in latest technology trends, SCM, automation, build and deployment systems and techniques. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related technical major and a minimum of 10 years experience in the following areas: *RESPONSIBILITIES*: - Support, oversee and own the Software Configuration Management and Release Engineering / DEV OPS practice for HP.com - Design and develop productivity tools to support change, configuration, release management across different environments - Configure and Administer App Servers (Weblogic, JBOSS) and Web Servers (Apache, IIS) in Linux/Windows including ssl/https, redirects, rewrites etc. - Communicate, collaborate and coordinate with globally distributed teams across various time-zones and across different functions including DEV, QA, OPS, IT, DBAs etc. - Drive efficiency metrics including time to build, time to deploy, code violations, environment availability, environment differences (config, code, metadata and content) by implementing tools and automated processes - Design and develop reporting tools on efficiency metrics and environment health - Manage and enhance reliable continuous integration/deployment, release branches/tags, and merging with built-in quality checkpoints - Manage and optimize version control across all teams - Manage and synchronize multiple environments (Dev, QA, Integration, PROD) and build productivity/automated tools for synchronization - Create tools to meet change management audit requirements for releases and eliminate manual intervention, manual documentation and process and support faster Time to Market - Work in Agile methodology and deliver in short iterative sprint cycles *REQUIRED SKILLS* - 10+ years of release engineering / DEV OPS experience with at least 3+ years as lead - Must have Scripting languages like Perl, Python, Shell, Powershell to build tools - Must have SVN knowledge and build tools (Ant, NAnt, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus) - Must have System Admin and Configuration experience with App Servers (Weblogic or JBOSS) and Web Servers (Apache and IIS) in Linux/Windows including ssl/https, redirects, rewrites etc - Must be an expert in Linux and Windows environment and commands - Must have strong SQL knowledge with Oracle and/or SQL Server - Must have the ability to work flexibly and on own initiative. - Must have the ability to plan, monitor progress, and resolve issues. - Must be able to effectively communicate with both technical and business people. - Java and/or C# .net technologies to build custom tools - Experience in development of n-tiered web applications - Comfortable to handle high-stress situations that require quick thinking, problem solving and teamwork - Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), distributed team collaboration and coordination skills - Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative (being a self starter) and getting things done. *PREFERRED SKILLS* - SDL Tridion and/or other CMS experience - Experience with enabling web content for I18N and L10N - Eclipse, Visual Studio - JUnit, NUnit - Findbugs, PMD, FxCop, SONAR integrations - Expertise in Agile/Scrum Methodology -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "USITCV" group.
